The previous discourses have been on the proponents of the role of young people. However I would like to refute and point out the insignificance of young people in today's society.
Who influenced the youth population? Who announced war in Vietnam and Iraq or initiated the Manhattan project? The answer is adults. Adults built our society and founded laws to suppress the world of sins. One might ask why children and teenagers are so limited? There are two reasons: Dependency and naivety. Young people are here to learn from adults and are dependent on the guidance of elders. The youth are among the most impressionable of the general population. "Young folks" are gullible and lack the fundamental training of rational thought. That is why "young folks" are forced by law to attend school and receive this education in order to change the world of tomorrow when they reach adulthood, in which they are less credulous and attained rational thinking (creative thinking is perfectly rational). The future is the world of today's youth but the roles and actions are done by tomorrow's adults.

ReplyDeleteWhile it is true that teenagers are impressionable, it is also true that there are many adults too that are easily swayed and naive. I mean just look at the US, a lot of people there didn't know anything about Obama, they just voted for him because he was going to be the first black president, also a lot of the people there (including adults) have a hard time spelling basic words. Yes I'll agree with you in saying that young people need the guidance of adults and elders. However there are also many adults who also seek the guidance of elders. Life is one big journey and you never stop learning or changing, you say that young people are insignificant because they are gullible and dependent, but so are 99% of the people in this world. Also youth have played a large role in history and society. (ex Joan of Arc.) So don't go writing off the youth lie that.

ReplyDeleteHey, if u are Napoleon, u would have gotten 99.9999999% support in France, even if u sent millions to death. It only proves that all humans can be manipulated to a certain degree. Anger, hatred, and fear are 3 of the most powerful emotions that drive humans. Fear pulls out all of the natural instincts to survive ever since the first ape came out of water. They force us to choose, to make a decision, in a way
ReplyDeletethat either fuels it (anger) or quenches it (fear or hatred). Except that hatred is something that u can never quench without another emotion coming into play. Obama is only elected for the same reason that Bush is elected. Hope and promises that suits the emotion of the nation. Bush got on, because the entire nation is angry of the 911 event and fearful of another attack. Obama got on because US want peace, better economy and greater developments. The idea of having a president of a different race somehow relates to idea of been peaceful...certain studies have shown that. Teenager can be more easily influenced by the society but not by their parents. Any younger generation including young ants appear to love to adopt any idea that is popular or successful. This means that any new idea that is been made and many of their peers in their community accepts is automatically something that they should do. It is again a natural instinct. To act in conformity is vital for the survival of any society as people of different ideas will simply spread and subdivide. Even now, Quebec is still separate from the rest of Canada. As far as I know, Hitler was more supported by the younger generation in Germany during World War 2 than the old. The last Elder in Western civilization was in the time of ancient Romans. The most famous argument between the Elders and the younger generation also happened at that time.
Elder: who are u barking at, pup?
Young man: At the thief in front of me.
I am not here to say adults are not gullible. The average Joe would vote for the inspirational Obama for a naive reason. I am here to say that a majority of major human acheivements (and disasters) are done by intelligent and educated adults. That is why our government coerce youth to get an education. That way, they become eminently significant when it comes to giving back to the society. I stated that the youth are dependent on the guidance of their elders. I apologize for being one sided, but I just wanted a change of taste.
ReplyDeleteI understand that you wanted a change of pace, but you have to realize that it's not just the teenagers that are influenced by adults, adults are also being influenced by teenagers. Basic rule of survival: The strong rule. Whether they are adults or teenagers is irrelevant, those with the most strength and charisma will lead the weak-willed people that make up the bulk of this world
ReplyDeleteMost apes left the trees of Africa, and none of them came out of the water.
ReplyDelete"The society is a pyramid, the dictator rules on top of the slaves that stack beneath."-I said this but only if I want to describe dictatorship and power.
ReplyDelete"The society is a pyramid, the glory is support by the people or else the entire society clapses"- I will say this to describe anarchy.
"The society is a pyramid, a small group controls the people's mind but not direct military, therefore they can use the might of the people to crush all that stands in their way"-I will say this to describe Communism.
The point is that all of us, unfortunately are controlled in some way by the government. The government sets what we learn and therefore directly influences our mind. However, the true ruler of the slave drivers are usually one that uses mind instead of physical force. With only words, one can create anger, fear, hatred, and fairly much everything else. There once was an orator name Webster. He was able to convince an entire town from pitying someone into hanging the same person with only a 5 minute speech. We are controllable and manipulatable. Our life starts with manipulation, and there is no reason why it won't end that way. From our birth, we cry to persuade our parents to do stuff. Babies have enlarged pupils to use their cuteness to convince their parents that abandoning them is inhumane.
Wow what a useless tangent. I still don't get what you're trying to say with the apes though Steven, care to explain?
ReplyDeleteTHE POINTS I DONT GET WHAT HE HAS JUST POSTED. HOW THE ABYSS DOES APES HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH GETTING INFLUENCED? APES DONT EVEN KNOW HOW TO COMMUNICATE UNTIL THEY REACH STONE AGE OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT. FORGET ABOUT THE TIME WHEN THEY ARE STILL IN WATER.
ReplyDeleteThink about it Sotes and all will come to you! Hint: Are apes land mammals or sea creatures.
ReplyDeleteSorry I didn't bother to read Jisong's comment so it made no sense to me
ReplyDeleteMost coins has left the mint factory, and none of them came out of molten nickel...Is that the same as ur ape example?
ReplyDeleteIt is your example Jisong, no mine.
ReplyDeletesame analogy. Coins only come out from mints not from recycling metal scraps factories...
ReplyDeleteNo, your analogy made no sense and is not the same as the minted coin analogy. The greater apes did not originate from the water, they descended down from trees and lived on land. Now quit annoying me with these tangents.
ReplyDeleteThere is an old Chinese proverb,"Playing the zither to an ox." With this mish-mash of irrelevent analogies, nobody will understand your true aim or point.
ReplyDeleteSo basically you are saying that your analogy will not be accpeted by both a creationist or a evolutionist?
ReplyDeleteYour interpretation of this proverb is bad. People will not understand your point(s) if it is not clear and covered up with irrelevent examples.
ReplyDeleteI am sure monkey on trees and monkeys in waters will be very relevent to the topic.
